founded in the year 2000 by PierPaolo De Fina, offers a unique and extremely wide selection of works that can be enjoyed by a worldwide audience. At the same time, it grants authors a powerful exposure to their works.

- I don’t think that the Internet, just like television, will ever be able to replace a theatrical screening room. However, in the auteur short film promotional context, the Internet has evolved into an exceptional vehicle for this specific purpose.
The two primary advantages of the Internet include its economical aspect as well as the characteristic of annihilating the barriers of space and time.
The economical advantage is due to the fact that on the Internet it is now possible to get worldwide exposure.
The space advantage is due to the fact that nowadays the Internet has no space limits.
The time advantage is derived from the fact that access to the works is not limited to fixed periods, but it offers instead a 24/7 availability.
Thanks to streaming technology, anyone can stream a movie on the Internet, with no delay time for the audience and short films can be watched all over the world by simply setting up an Internet connection. Practically speaking, the short films are “readily available on demand’’.

When I make a short film, my first wish is to be able to show it to the largest possible audience. I think this is a desire all authors have in common. But it is also imoprtant that the short films that deserve recognition can get it through an easy diffusion.
This is why CortoWeb is organizing the ‘’I’ve Seen Films’’ International Film Festival, founded and chaired by Rutger Hauer. This Festival has already established itself as a point of reference for filmmakers from all over the world. It is a moment of cultural importance enriched by a real experience exchange amongst filmmakers that can face each other on the common ground of the film language.
The exposure possibility and the deserved recognition have already stimulated many authors to produce short films.
To film enthusiasts, CortoWeb also offers the opportunity to get a deeper look at the international short film world and we trust that this can also help the technical, aesthetic and ethical development of this art of expression. -
